For years there has been a debate amongst bow hunters wether the simplicity and open sight picture of a single-pin slider sight is better than the versatility and speed of a multi-pin sight. To be honest, we don’t want to go there. We could be here for hours debating. Apparently, Garmin felt like we did. They didn’t want to debate either. So, they shifted the conversation by producing the Xero A1i Bow sight.
The Xero is a laser range finding bow sight featuring a holographic site with dual LED colors.
With many states now allowing the use of bow-mounted range finders, the Xero is a timely step forward for archers. It measures the angle-compensated distance to the target and provides an exact LED pin for the shot. It has the simplicity of a single pin and eliminates the “in between” pin range of a multi-pin sight. You can calibrate it to your exact arrow weight. This feels like an industry game changer. Outside of a quick rundown and demo at the ATA show we haven’t had a chance to put it through it paces. We will keep you posted once we get our hands on one at the pro shop.
