In February of 2018 our admired Bowtech Rep, Maury Butterfield passed away. Now everyone knew that when Maury walked into the room smiles were immediately passed around. He cared for and loved his job, including every person involved. Taking care of everyone around him was his ultimate goal. Now, ‘giver’ is what we all remember him by.
When Maury would show up to meet with you, he came so excited. The door would open, Maury walked in with a shuffle in his hip, his hands pumping for energy, and sing, “We are going to make some moneyyy.” That my friends, is what we called “The Maury Shuffle.”
Now, we want to do all we can to give back and keep Maury Butterfield and his light alive. In honor of him we (Humphries Archery) have decided to do a giveaway, known as the Maury Shuffle. This giveaway isn’t just any standard giveaway, we are focused on bringing everyone together to brighten someones day.
The Maury Shuffle giveaway is dependent on you submitting for friends or loved ones. Everyone, we invite you to take a chance for someone, think of someone close to you that you know is going through a rough time in life. Think of someone who is hiking through a trial and could use a little ray of sunshine in their life. Write their story and situation and email it to brian@humphriesarchery.com. In October, the Humphries Team will be gathered for their annual retreat, there they will read each story and choose one for the Maury Shuffle of 2019.
Here’s the run down, you can’t write your own story. This giveaway is honored in Maury Butterfield’s name to give back to him and all those around us. We will not be sharing these stories publicly, only the selected one if the family gives permission. All the stories go directly to Brian Cook, the owner of Humphries Archery who will then share with just his employees in October.
When the story is selected for the Maury Shuffle Giveaway, the Humphries Team will personally deliver a Bowtech SR6 bow to them. We wish to shine some light, at least a little bit onto someone who is walking a bit in the dark.
