If you live in Utah then you know that the Utah big game draw results will be coming out soon. This is something that all hunters in Utah have been waiting for, for months. This means it’s time to dust off the bow and start practicing. This also means it’s time to get your bow and gear checked. Like we said in our last blog post, we recommend getting your bow checked at least once a year to see if it needs to be tuned up and everything is functioning properly. You don’t want to find out in the field that it’s not functioning 100%.
Practicing is also very important, archery is a commitment. It’s different than rifle hunting where you can pull out the rifle the weekend before the hunt and you’re ready to go. You have to keep your skills sharp when you’re a bow hunter. There’s no such thing as being a weekend warrior when you bow hunt.
Scouting is another important factor in being a successful bow hunter. It’s almost time to start placing the cameras out and pounding the boots on the hills. Patterning the animals well before the hunt will really aid in your success as a bow hunter.
We wish everyone the best of luck and hope you draw the tag you’re wanting this year!
