2016 Mathews Halon 6 review from Brian Cook at our Salt Lake City location.

After setting up, tuning and shooting the new Mathews Halon 6, we are optimistic about its future. In this video, Humphries Archery owner Brian Cook gives a quick run down of the new bow and then shoots it over the chronograph. We are pretty impressed with the draw cycle of the Halon 6. The “cam within a cam” system from Mathews makes for a smooth, consistent draw stroke. The bow has a six inch brace height (hence the name Halon 6), a thirty inch axle-to-axle measurement and comes in at 4.55lbs. With such a smooth drawing bow, we were a little concerned about its actual speed. Suffice it to say that our concerns were unfounded as the bow performed quite well over the chronograph. After setting the draw length to thirty inches, setting the draw weight to 70lbs and then rounding up a 350 grain arrow, we tested the speed. With a true “IBO” set up the bow shot a speedy 338 ft/sec. That’s great news that we have been waiting for from Mathews.  We are excited for our customers to get their hands on the Halon 6 and put it through its paces.
